Village Learning Centers, Favor Primary, and Favor Secondary put Christ-centered school within reach of children who had none.
Children in Uganda and South Sudan face barriers to school that include extreme poverty, no school in the village, and no way to get to one far away. Even those who enroll can sit in a class of a hundred children to one teacher. Early marriage cuts many girls off in their mid-teens.
Favor’s Village Learning Centers sit in church buildings so younger students can walk there. Teachers are found in the community, trained, and given the Roots to Fruit curriculum, a Bible-based approach approved by the Ugandan government. Favor sponsors a center for two to three years until the village can carry it.
Village Learning Centers are a by-product of Women’s Empowerment. The first thing mothers do when they can earn is pay school fees. Favor Primary and Secondary continue that path for students who would otherwise stop. The mission of Favor Schools is to raise the next generation of Uganda and South Sudan’s leadership on the Word of God, prayer, and academic work.
